Third Round Opening Act Winners

In January, Jon Bon Jovi announced on Facebook Live an exciting opening act contest to give bands the chance to open an arena date on Bon Jovi’s This House Is Not For Sale Tour. To enter the competition, thousands of bands uploaded audition videos at or the Bon Jovi and Live Nation Facebook pages.  To pick the winner for each tour date, Live Nation chose 10 finalists and Bon Jovi management selected the contest winner from the shortlist.

Head over to to get your tickets to the 2017 This House Is Not For Sale Tour.

March 1 – San Jose, CA

Thadeus Gonzalez

“The band would like to thank Bon Jovi, Live Nation and most of all the artists, musicians, and fans that support the local arts and music communities here in the Bay Area,” said Thadeus Gonzalez. “We can’t wait to bring our brand of rock & roll to the SAP Center in San Jose.”

March 4 – Phoenix, AZ

“Music has always been a way for us to communicate beyond words,” said LUXXE. “We are immensely grateful for the opportunity to be heard, and to listen and learn from each other. Excited to be able to share this experience and thank you again for the chance! Cheers!”

March 5 – San Diego, CA

“Bon Jovi has been an inspiration to this band from its inception. It is more than an honor to get to share the stage with them. It will be an unforgettable night for us and we cannot thank Bon Jovi enough for this incredible opportunity.”

March 8 – Los Angeles, CA

Stellar Revival

“For us, this is the top of the mountain. No other band on earth has inspired us more than Bon Jovi. My first concert was Bon Jovi’s ‘Keep The Faith Tour.’ I was 9 years old and it changed my life. To be asked to share the stage with Jon and the boys at the Forum is absolutely surreal,” said drummer Andrew Koussevitzky.  “As excited as we are, we plan on taking this gig extremely seriously and hope to deliver Los Angeles one of the greatest nights of rock it’s ever seen. We’re excited. We’re humbled. More than anything, we are ready to rock the Forum with Bon Jovi and give Los Angeles a night of rock music to remember.”

  1. I’m going to preface this with saying my band submitted for this LA show and I am not upset that we did not win but, I am confused about the winner that was picked.

From the looks of it a band from Florida was picked to open an LA show. Winning with a video that was shot in 2012. There has been very little activity on the internet or Facebook since 2015 for this band and they definitely have not been playing shows in LA and I can’t seem to find any shows that they have been playing anywhere to be honest.

We as artists were under the impression that this was to help out the indie bands who grind week in and week out to get their music heard and play anywhere and everywhere they can. In a city like LA there are a multitude of bands doing just that. It feels like a slap to the face to everyone who believed that this was something that was going to help a band who lives and plays in Los Angeles and it’s unfortunate that it doesn’t seem to be the case. Hopefully, I’m wrong but I had to say something because I truly believe that this opportunity should of gone to a band that lives and plays in LA.
